The best time of year to visit Orlando is off-peak season.  Not only will the theme parks and attractions be less crowded, but the weather will be a bit better.  Florida's peak months are March through August, which also happen to be the cities hottest months, when temperatures can soar into the 90's daily.  Pick a time in early spring or early fall, some of the best weather in the city all year is during the months of October and November.

While you are in the area you might consider spending some time at some of the lesser known attractions or visiting a museum.  Orlando has a Historic Bok Sanctuary, with acres of intricately landscaped gardesn, and the World of Orchids.
