A Travel Guide to Orlando

While most tourists headed to the city of Orlando, Florida have plans to based around the Florida theme parks, Orlando actually has far more to offer.  Downtown Orlando is actually theme park-free.  If you wish to visit Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World, Arabian Nights, or any of the smaller theme parks located around Orlando you will be headed out of the city at least 30 minutes.  To get in and around the city you can take an Orlando, Florida car hire.

The best time of year to visit Orlando is just outside of peak season.  Not only will the theme parks and attractions be less crowded, but the weather will be a bit better.  Orlando's peak months are March through August, which also happen to be the cities hottest months, when temperatures can soar into the 90's daily.  Pick a time in early spring or early fall; some of the best weather in the city all year is during the months of October and November.

Most people arrive to the city via Orlando International Airport.  It is centrally located with respect to the region's attractions and has direct flights with almost every major US city, as well as over a dozen Canadian destinations, Jamaica, the Bahamas, Mexico, Panama, Germany, Ireland, Brazil, and the UK.  You can arrange your ground transportation around the city by having a car hire Orlando, Florida await your arrival at the airport.

While you are in the area you might consider spending some time at some of the lesser known attractions or visiting a museum.  Orlando has a Historic Bok Sanctuary, with acres of intricately landscaped gardesn, and the World of Orchids.
